Jiyoun Lee

An artist from the earth stays in NY

Name: Jiyoun Lee

In my work anthropomorphic creatures such as trash bags, bombs, and weapons tell stories of vulnerability from my ever-changing perspectives as a woman, dreamer and cultural alien. Using ink and acrylic on paper or canvas, I prefer to paint these images in black and white because this style is more object-focused and contradictory in nature. These are my diaries of darkness. My art not only helps me live with my monsters, but also lets me use them to live.

nive job. i like the way your usual lines are transformed into organic shapes that look as if floating on some kind of liquid surface.

I was so happy to find out new method of painting. That way is more hard to handle than I expected, and sometimes it gives me more exciting moments. This print surpassed my intention. One good, One bad. Thank you for answering^_^
